Al Batinah is the most densely populated region in Oman. The signature features of its dress are wide spread. The most common dress ensemble traditionally consists of an over the knee dishdasha 2 with a feature hem detail called singaff 3, trousers with an embroidered cuff, stitched in woollen thread, and a shaila 10. There are tribal variations of these key components. In Al Batinah there are also Al Beloushi styles that reflect an Iranian-Beloushi influence more than a Pakistani-Beloushi style. The key difference between standard Arab-Al-Batinah dress and Iranian-influenced-Al Beloushi-Al Batinah dress is the difference in the silhouette, created by very different central garments.
